My PhD project centered on the taxonomy and phylogeny of the genus Solanum. My main interest lies in Solanum subgenus Leptostemonum or the "spiny solanums". I am currently finishing a revision on a non-spiny section Gonatotrichum that is notable for its explosive fruit dehiscence. My PhD dissertation included a monograph on section Micracantha as well as clarification of the phylogeny of the spiny solanums.
